Born in 1977, BAJAN MAFIA went to school at THE ABBEY PRIMARY SCHOOL there is where he found he had the talent to DJ.
He and his friends would chant all the latest songs at lunchtime and he noticed they would always ask him to chat again.
He then moved on to ST LENNARD'S BOY'S, there he was roped into the choir by a music teacher called MR Altman
There he started to blend his chatting with his singing. He would always write sounds but never perform to anyone but his friends.
In his late teens there was an upturn in the music scene.In Temple Yard was the venue if you wanted to hear the latest local talent, this was the beginning of BAJANMAFIA'S musical journey.
There is where he performed to an audience for the first time. Then known as YOUT MAN, he performed along side other artist such as IMPY DAN(EVABLESS), LIL BUGGY(OUTSIDE LADY), DADDY BEEF(PROSPERITY), HOTTA FLAMES(he had de song system),LIL LAMB,PIN POINT,AFRICAN, TWIN MAN(AND HIS BRO PAUL wicked singer), just to name a few.
There FOUNDATION YOUTHS was born, they were brought together by FATHER DILLON(CHINESE CONNECTION).
Together they performed at their own show which was a real success and shortly afterwards they performed at a BOUNTY KILLER show.
Since then the Group split and he started to focus on maintaining momentum. He started linking Buggy,Pappy T, Hotta flames, they recorded some tracks and these had a great reception.
He started to record a SOCA album at AIRBOURNE STUDIOS in St Thomas but he also met the woman who also became his wife and moved to England.
Now you are about to witness the re-emergence of the Bajan Mafia.

POLICE MAYBE CHARGED FOR CORRUPTION IN KARTEL MURDER CASE

The ongoing circus that is the trial of embattled Dancehall superstar, Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer may have taken another turn; this time involving the police.
According to the Jamaica Observer, six police officers assigned to the Gun Court Remand Centre could be facing corruption charges after they were allegedly caught on video taking money from one of Vybz Kartel’s relatives. Kartel currently sits in a Kingston-based jail where he faces two murder charges and a drug-related charge, all issues within the last month and a half.
Now it’s being reported that investigators from the police Anti-Corruption Branch followed one of the six police officers from the Gun Court Remand Centre to the home of Kartel’s relative, where he videotaped the law enforcement official taking money from her. Allegedly, the video shows the officer accepting money from the relative of the popular deejay.
Additionally, reports revealed that the officer also accepted money from one of the suspects in Kartel’s murder trial in exchange for visitation rights.

Subsequently, the suspect was not searched before being allowed into an area of the Constant Spring lock-up off limits to the public; spending a considerable amount of time with Kartel while law enforcement officials allowed the illegal meeting to take place.
As a result, the police officer, along with five other law enforcement officials were transferred from the Gun Court Remand Centre while Vybz Kartel has since been moved to the Horizon Adult Remand Centre on Spanish Town Road due to the alleged incident
The Portmore Empire deejay faces murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of firearm charges in relation to the murder of Barrington “Bossie” Burton, a businessman/promoter from St. Catherine. Furthermore, Kartel, along with long-time protégé, Shawn Storm, designer, Calvin “Moonie” Haye and Cayro Jones were jointly charged with the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams, a dancer from Waterford, St. Catherine .
All of the accused were remanded into police custody until December 2.

Umoja wa Kiislamu wa Elimu, Uchumi na Maendeleo Zanzibar (UKUEM), umesema unaunga mkono msimamo wa serikali ya Muungano na Zanzibar wa kupinga mashoga na wasagaji kutambuliwa kisheria.

Katibu Mtendaji wa Umoja huo, Sheikh Mohammed Mohammed, katika taarifa yake kwa vyombo vya habari iliyotolewa mjini Zanzibar jana, alisema umoja huo unaunga mkono msimamo uliotolewa na Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa, Bernad Membe na Rais wa Zanzibar Dk. Ali Mohammed Shein, wa kupinga suala hilo.

Msimamo huo wa serikali unafuatia tishio lililotolewa na Waziri Mkuu wa Uingereza David Camelon kuzitaka nchi ambazo zinapata misaada kutoka nchi hiyo kuingiza katika Katiba haki za kuwatambua mashoga na mahusiani ya jinsia moja ama sivyo zinaweza kunyimwa misaada hiyo.

Sheikh Mohammed alisema kwamba vitendo vya ndoa za jinsia moja vinakwenda kinyume na mila na utamaduni wa mwafrika pamoja na misingi ya imani za dini hivyo siyo busara kuruhusu kuwepo kwa sheria kama hiyo.

Alisema kwamba matatizo ya kiuchumi isiwe sababu kwa nchi maskini kulazimishwa kufuata sheria zinazo kwenda kinyume na mila na utamaduni wa wananchi wake.

“Bado tunasema kuwa huu ni mwanzo mzuri wa kukabiliana na viongozi wanaotaka kueneza ufisadi kwa kutumia uwezo wao wa kiuchumi kulazimisha mila na silka zao zikubalike hata kama zinakwenda kinyume na mila na utamaduni wa wananchi na imani zao za dini” alisema.

Sheikh Mohammed, alipongeza msimamo ulionyeshwa na viongozi hao na kwamba unapaswa kuungwa mkono na wananchi wote kwa sababu kuwatambua mashoga ni kwenda kinyume dini, mila na utamaduni wa wananchi wa Zanzibar na Tanzania kwa jumla.

Aidha, alisema wakati umefika kwa viongozi kuwa makini na mikataba ya kimataifa ili kuepusha sheria zinazotungwa kwenda kinyume na mila na utamaduni na kutoa mfano wa sheria ya haki za watoto iliyopitishwa mwaka huu Zanzibar ilikuwa na kasoro kabla ya kurekebishwa baada ya mzazi kuzuiwa kumchapa bakora mtoto wake.

Wakazi a.k.a Swagga Bovu was born Webiro Noel Wassira in December 27, 1982. He became a fan of Hip Hop music at a very young age influenced by his older brothers who used to play records in his presence as he recalls. Fast forward to his high school days, the love of Music didn’t stop especially after meeting and making new friends with whom he shared the affection for hip hop and there came the W...u Tang era. He and his friends became addicted to Wu Tang so much that even their nicknames were imitating the Clan’s names. He became very popular in school with his performances during concerts. Back to the neighborhood he grew up in, Stakishari Ukonga, things were not so different. He befriended other youngsters who had a rap crew called ‘The Red Scouts” with members like Black Messenger, Black Moran and Tariq the Rebel. With his neighborhood pride and support of his crew he started writing his own lyrics. It was a big challenge to him since he would subconsciously bite other rappers materials but the biggest challenge was to write in Swahili since he was so used to rhyming in English. One time after meeting and impressing DJ Steve B (Skillz) of clouds FM, he arranged for him together with other aspiring rappers, LANGA and Sage whom Wakazi already knew and went to school with coincidentally, to go to Bongo Records studios and meet with P Funk a.k.a Majani. The encounter was not as productive as he would have liked but it was definitely what he calls the beginning of the endless. After departing Dar es Salaam for the United States, as soon as he landed in the so called the land of opportunity, Wakazi knew he had an unfinished business and no matter how long it takes, he has to get it done. That being said, I am glad to present to you, Wakazi a.k.a Swagga Bovu.

M.2.S WIV ONE VOICE--HUMAN TRAFFICKER JAILED FOR TRYING TO SELL ALBINO MAN TO WITCH DOCTORS.

A KENYAN human trafficker has been jailed  for attempting to sell an Albino man to Witch doctors. Nathan Mutei, 28, Pleaded guilty to abduction and human trafficking.He was sentenced to 17 years in Prison and a fine of over $50,000 {£32,000} by a magistrates court in TANZANIA. Police reportedly said they arrested Mutel just outside the town of Mwanza in a sting operation,disguising themselves as businessmen in the Albino trade.They snared Mutei when he tried to sell Robinson Mkwana,a fellow kenyan,for more than $250,000{£160,200}.Mkwana spoke of how Mutei lured him with job offers whilst bargaining with witch doctors who would have had him killed.He said: 'he told me there were jobs in Kenya. But he just wanted to trade me in.'In TANZANIA, witch doctors use Albino bodies and bones in potions they tell clients will endow them with health,beauty or riches.The trade has claimed dozens of victims,and has spread to neighbouring Burundi, where 11 have been killed in the past year and communities of Albinos have been frightened into hiding.Of 170,000 Albinos in TANZANIA,at least 53 have been killed since 2007.Authorities in the country have said they will clamp down on traffickers,sentencing several people to death in connection with the murders. Mutei's imprisonment has been taken as a sign that authorities are combating the trade.the secretary general of the TANZANIA Albino Society,Zihada Ali Msembo,said: 'We are happy with the quick conclusion of the trial,because these cases have been dragging on for too long.'However, there was some disappointment that Mutei's jail terms will run concurrently,meaning he will only serve nine years behind bars. Msembo said:'This man should have been sentenced to life in prison because he knew very well that this poor Albino he was trying to sell would have been BUTCHERED.'

WAKAZI AND GWAII PERFORM AT WORLD AFRICAN FESTIVAL IN DETROIT.

2 artists from Tanzania, Gwaii and Wakazi performed at the Annual World African Festival in Detroit this last Saturday. The event takes place every year with dancing group displays, poetry, art display as well as live performances by bands from all over the world. Gwaii also known as Gwaii Thyword (Actor/Singer), has been creating a lot of buzz in the Midwest area with his combination of music, dancing and spoken word.

The buzz was big enough to earn him a spot as one of the performers at the festival, where he put on a show worth while. Accompanying him to the stage, was a string of collaborators, namely Amber (singer), Kodac (American rapper), Mama Ayo (Poetress) and Wakazi (Tanzanian rapper) with whom he performed 2 of their collaborative work namely "Welcome " and "Cheza" both produced by John Mahundi. With a show like the one they did this saturday, look forward to hearing these artists names in the mainstream as they are bound to become household names.
